Revamping and Repurposing CollegeInvestr

First, I’d like to apologize for being absent for so long.  I’ll explain later what I’ve been up to!

CollegeInvestr has been around for almost two years now and it’s given me opportunities that I never would have had.  I’m very grateful for my readers and for multiple people in the finance education industry who gave me a chance to write from them.  Don’t worry, CollegeInvestr isn’t going anywhere, we’re just changing the direction of the website and the content we’re going to be releasing

I’ve always felt that the content I released on this site felt very impersonal and maybe too advanced for students.  A lot of the topics we’ve covered in the past year just simply aren’t relevant for people in their early twenties.  So, I’d like to solve both problems by changing the style of content CollegeInvestr releases.  Instead of releasing guides and informational pieces, we’ll be posting content detailing my (David’s) personal adventure as a (former) college student investing and running several businesses.

Looking to the Future

To elaborate and clarify where I’ve been for 4 months and what businesses I’m referring to, here is the short version:

Because of my experiences with CollegeInvestr and some of the connections I’ve made, I was able to start an online marketing group.  Starting a marketing group from scratch and developing content has taken up most of my time.  This marketing company, called Kain Media Group, is my main project as of now and most of the posts I make on CollegeInvestr will detail my experiences operating Kain Media Group.  Problems I face, the solutions to them, interesting information, tips, and much more will be detailed in my posts about Kain Media Group.

Around the time I was starting my marketing company, I was approached by a classmate to help start another business that specializes in aftermarket chrome accessories for semi trucks.  Yes, that’s correct, I am a partner in a chrome shop.  Never in a million years would I have imagined that I would be in this industry, but, I’ve really loved establishing this company and working on this project.  I’m sure that I’ll be writing about my experiences running Jack’s Chrome Shop (website coming soon).

Learn More About Me!

Those are the two main projects that I’m working on right now.  I have a couple others that are smaller and I’m sure they’ll weave their way into my CollegeInvestr content when it’s appropriate.  The revamp of CollegeInvestr is the last project that I’ll mention today.  I’ll be sharing more of the personal side and the background work that goes into running this website.  My overall goal is to be much more transparent about my life and my business ventures.  I’m hoping that by opening up to my readers about my experience being an entrepreneur, I’ll be able to inspire other young millennials to consider starting their own business!

I want to thank my readers again for being very responsive to my content over the past two years.  I hope you enjoy the new direction of CollegeInvestr.  If you’d like to follow my journey, subscribe to the email list or follow any of the CollegeInvestr social media links found at the very bottom of the page!

Best wishes,
